A visibly shaken Tom Cruise finally opened up about the death of his good friend's son -- describing Jett Travolta's death as "horrific" and addressing Scientology's role in the tragedy.
Struggling to find the right words, Cruise addressed the emotional topic during a taping for tomorrow's episode of "The View," where he claimed his religion does not prohibit people from seeing a doctor and getting proper medication.

It's pretty clear ...Tom Cruise is not going to Jett Travolta's memorial in Florida today, because he is currently in NYC taping "The View."
Cruise -- who is really close to John Travolta and Kelly Preston -- is at the ABC studio right now, taping the episode that normally is broadcast live -- it will air tomorrow (the delay is because of Prez-elect Obama's speech).
Interestingly, Travolta did not attend Tom's star-studded 2006 wedding to Katie Holmes.

As if "Valkyrie" weren't crap enough on its own, Tom Cruise is in trouble for allegedly using a replica of Hitler's favorite globe in the movie.
Robert Pritikin, an SF ad exec, tells the New York Post he owns the globe Hitler used to plan U-boat attacks, among other things, and was shocked to see a replica of it in Cruise's movie. Pritikin claims he owns the copyright to the globe's likeness so it couldn't be co-opted by neo-Nazi groups.
Lawyers for Pritikin, who created the Rice-a-Roni jingle, say the whole thing could be just an "oversight." Cruise's reps couldn't be reached.

Tom Cruise has had an unwelcome visitor, and his head of security went to court yesterday to express concern.
Edward Van Tassel was arrested the day before the Prez election after waving a gun and an American flag on a freeway in Santa Barbara. He was taken to an unsecured Veteran's hospital awaiting his court hearing.
Yesterday, at a bail hearing, the prosecutor said Van Tassel had left the VA facility three times to go to Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills house to deliver a letter. We're told Van Tassel believed Cruise was sympathetic to vets.
Tom's P.I. said he was concerned for his client, and the judge ordered Van Tassel to stay away from Cruise.

David and Victoria Beckham and fam celebrated the American holiday of Thanksgiving, by Scientolojoining the TomKats at the Big Apple Circus in NYC.
Tom gave little adorable Suri the day off from parading through the streets of Manhattan so she could enjoy the festivities, along with her siblings/Nicole Kidman's children, Isabella and Connor.
As usual, Katie walked a tight rope between dead eyes and vacant stare.
